Serving as a General Body Member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is more than an honor—it is a responsibility to represent the voices of thousands of entrepreneurs, businesses, and workers across the nation. This position is a symbol of trust, earned through consistent dedication, advocacy, and a willingness to place collective interest above personal comfort.

My journey to this role was not a straight road. It was paved with sleepless nights, difficult decisions, and constant sacrifices. But each challenge only strengthened my resolve to contribute meaningfully to Bangladesh’s economic growth and business development.

The Work Behind the Title

Before I earned a seat at the FBCCI table, I spent years actively engaging with business communities—locally and nationally. I listened to their problems, stood with them in crisis, and worked to find real, actionable solutions. From trade licensing issues to VAT complexities, from sudden policy shifts to unfair competitive practices—I didn’t just observe these problems. I made it my mission to address them.

I organized awareness sessions, attended stakeholder meetings, and led delegations to government offices to demand reforms. I advocated for business-friendly policies, tax fairness, and infrastructure improvements. I raised my voice not just for the big players but also for small and mid-sized entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our economy.

Sacrifices You Don’t See

What many don’t see behind the position are the personal sacrifices. To earn the trust of the business community and be nominated to FBCCI, I often put aside personal ventures. Time I could’ve spent growing my own business was instead spent helping others resolve theirs. I sacrificed family moments, financial opportunities, and even peace of mind to stay committed to this cause.

Many nights were spent reviewing policy drafts, preparing presentations, or meeting members in distant districts. There were no shortcuts—just hard work, honesty, and a relentless drive to improve the business ecosystem of our country.

At times, I faced pressure for speaking uncomfortable truths, including from influential figures. But I remained firm. I didn’t take this position to be popular—I took it to make a difference.

Vision Beyond Myself

As a General Body Member, I see my role as a bridge between grassroots businesses and national policymakers. I bring their voices, their pain points, and their proposals to the highest level of commerce advocacy in the country. I support initiatives for digitalization, skills training, and SME development. I push for inclusive economic growth—one that leaves no entrepreneur behind.

This position is not a destination. It is a platform. And I intend to use it fully—to serve, to advocate, and to build a better future for business in Bangladesh.

True leadership isn’t about holding a position—it’s about making a difference. And my work with FBCCI is proof that with sacrifice, sincerity, and vision, anyone can rise and serve at the highest levels of national impact.
